Triplets' History Page:
1869 The birth date of football in the United States is generally regarded by football historians as November 6, 1869, when teams from Rutgers and Princeton universities met in New Brunswick, New Jersey, for the first intercollegiate football game. In the early games, each team used 25 players at a time. By 1873 the number was reduced to 20 players, in 1876 to 15 players, and in 1880 to 11 players, where it has remained.
1869 - 1970 The game of football makes minor progress toward it's current state.
1970 The Blue Ridge Triplets Football team is formed.

Dick Paccio attended the May Triplets meeting with a handful of names, notes and information on the history of the Triplets. Dick put some time into gathering this information. All his hard efforts will be captured soon and added to this page for all to see. The format will most likely be a chronology starting in 1970 with the formation of the Triplets.
